Construction cost index increased by 4.41 percent in May compared to the previous month and by 39.56 percent compared to the same month of the previous year in Turkey. Thus, the fastest increase in construction costs since September 2018.

Turkish Statistical Institute announced the construction cost index data for May.

Accordingly, the construction cost index increased by 4.41 percent in May 2021 compared to the previous month and by 39.56 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. Compared to the previous month, the material index increased by 6.32 percent, the labor index decreased by 0.03 percent. In addition, the material index increased by 49.45 percent and the labor index increased by 19.97 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.

Building construction cost index increased by 39.16 percent annually

Building construction cost index increased by 4.42 percent compared to the previous month and by 39.16 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. Compared to the previous month, the material index increased by 6.50 percent, the labor index decreased by 0.26 percent. In addition, the material index increased by 48.89 percent and the labor index increased by 20.24 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.

Construction cost index for non-building structures increased by 40.90 percent annually

Construction cost index for non-building structures increased by 4.35 percent compared to the previous month and by 40.90 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. Compared to the previous month, the material index increased by 5.73 percent and the labor index increased by 0.83 percent. In addition, the material index increased by 51.33 percent and the labor index increased by 18.95 percent compared to the same month of the previous year
